Privacy Policy

We collect only what we need to run the service:

• AI prompt text. When you use the “Ask AI” feature, the text you type is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. We also store the prompt text in our own database, along with a one-way hash of your IP address and your browser's user-agent string, so we can review what people are asking for and spot abuse. We never store your raw IP address.
• Server-side analytics. Standard request data collected automatically by our hosting provider, Vercel: IP address, browser user agent, referring URL, pages visited, and session duration. We use this data in summary form to see how the tool is being used.

We do not collect your name, email address, account credentials, payment information, or the designs you create. All map and star rendering happens in your browser.

• AI prompt text: reviewed for abuse and used to improve the quality of AI responses.
• Analytics data: used in summary form to understand which features are popular and to diagnose errors. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it to third parties.

Style My City integrates with third parties who may process data as part of the service:

• MapTiler — serves map tiles. Your browser connects directly to MapTiler servers when viewing maps. See MapTiler Privacy Policy.
• Nominatim / OpenStreetMap — processes location search queries. No personally identifiable information is transmitted beyond your search text and IP address.
• Overpass API — serves river and waterway data. No PII transmitted.
• Anthropic — processes AI prompt text when you use the “Ask AI” feature. See Anthropic Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — hosts the application and collects server analytics. See Vercel Privacy Policy.

Style My City does not set first-party cookies. Vercel Analytics uses privacy-preserving, anonymous tracking that does not rely on cookies or fingerprinting. No advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts are loaded.

Server analytics data is retained according to Vercel's default schedule. AI prompt logs (text + hashed IP + user-agent) are retained indefinitely so we can study product use over time; you may request deletion of your entries via the contact in section 6. We do not retain your designs or exports; those stay on your device.

You may request deletion of any data associated with your session. Because we do not collect account information, requests are handled on a best-effort basis using session identifiers or other available signals. To make a request, please email birchroadlabs@gmail.com.

Style My City is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page when changes are made.
